Angela Williams

Founder –  MAT, CALT

Angela Williams is the owner and founder of Away with Words. Angela is a Certified Academic Language Therapist and a Reading Specialist with over 20 years’ experience in teaching.  

Angela has spent the last 8 years providing early intervention to children Pre K-2nd grade and has provided over 1000 hours of dyslexia therapy to individuals. She sits on the board for the Academic Language Therapy Association (ALTA) - Rocky Mountain Chapter and the board for the ALTA Charitable Foundation.

Angela holds a bachelor’s degree from Concordia University in Canada and a Post Graduate degree in Elementary Education from the University of Plymouth in England.  She completed her Master of Arts in Teaching as a  Dyslexia Specialist through Colorado College in Colorado.  

Angela is passionate about providing every child the opportunity to be academically successful regardless of learning style or academic challenges.

Valerie Stokes

MAT, CALT

Valerie is a Certified Academic Language Therapist through ALTA (Academic Language Therapy Association), a dyslexia specialist, and holds her Reading Specialist certification through the Colorado Department of Education. She has over 30 years in combined experience as either a classroom teacher, private tutor, homeschool parent, or dyslexia therapist. She has spent the last seven years providing therapeutic instruction to young children, teens, young adults, and adults.

 

Valerie received her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in Reading development from Metropolitan State University in Denver. She later completed her Master of Arts in Teaching through the Dyslexia Specialist/Literacy Interventionist program at Colorado College in Colorado Springs, Colorado. 

 

When two of Valerie’s own children presented with learning challenges, she worked tirelessly to find the support and help they needed. Valerie is deeply committed to building skillsets and competencies in children before any sense of failure sets in. She believes that all children can and will learn to read and write with proper instruction and patience. She comes with a deep and empathetic understanding for parents who have children whose learning needs are different. She knows the way through and can offer hope as her own children are all college graduates who are successful in their own adult life and careers.

 

She is passionate about literacy and learning and is excited to work with your child.

Meg O'Toole

BA, Literacy Interventionalist

Meg's passion for literacy education was inspired by her daughter's experience with dyslexia. This personal connection drives her dedication to empowering every child to reach their full potential as readers and writers.
Meg holds a bachelor’s degree in Educational Studies, Elementary Education, from Western Governors University, where she was recognized with an excellence award for her achievements in Educational Foundations. She is also certified in BUILD reading intervention, equipping her with specialized skills to effectively support diverse learners.

TJ Feth

MAT, CALP

TJ Feth is a dedicated educator with a diverse and dynamic background. A proud U.S. Air Force veteran, TJ has also served as a police officer and a construction manager, bringing a wealth of real-world experience to his teaching. Holding a master’s degree in math education, TJ combines his expertise in mathematics with a passion for literacy as a Certified Academic Language Practitioner (CALP). Specializing in supporting students with dyslexia, TJ is committed to empowering learners to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential.

Alyssa Izboinikov

BA, CALP

Alyssa is a Certified Academic Language Practitioner through ALTA (Academic Language Therapy Association), as well as a third-grade classroom teacher in Colorado Springs. She has worked across all elementary school grades and works with students with dyslexia within her classroom.

 

Alyssa received her bachelor's degree from the University of Northern Colorado in Elementary Education and is now back at the University of Northern Colorado, getting her master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction.

 

Alyssa's love of teaching reading began in her first classroom where she worked with first grade students to build their reading skills. She believes teaching students how to read is the greatest part of her job and with her CALP Al hopes to reach even more students and help them gain confidence in their reading abilities.
